Turkish team defeated France 3-1 on the opening match. Turkish fans were on site to support their team. They treated players with baklava, a traditional Turkish desert, to celebrate the first victory after the game.

Turkish player Rahmi Özcan said they were very happy to win the first match, he dedicated the victory to families of war veterans since all players in Turkish team are war veterans.

Halil Ibrahim Koprulu, Coach of Turkish team, said this game is a show, and he hoped his players will keep on this. “To win or lose is not the matter as much as enjoying the game, and this team sure enjoys the challenge and cheer up”, he added.

Russia beat Ukraine 2 - 0 on another match the same day. After eight matches the tournament will end on December 6.
