REPUBLICAN SENATOR JIM DEMINT-- PUSHING HIS PARTY TO PULL THE PLUG ON EARMARKS.
EARMARKS ARE APPROVED FUNDS THAT GO TO SPECIAL PROJECTS IN A LAWMAKER'S STATE.
BUT NOT ALL MEMBERS OF THE G-O-P ARE ONBOARD WITH THE ISSUE.
OKLAHOMA SENATOR JIM INHOFE IS STEPPING UP HIS CAMPAIGN TO PRESERVE THE LEGISLATIVE PROVISION.
INHOFE says: "Well, in first place, that was an unfeded mandate you have to have certain waste water treatment plant and all of this. And an unfended mandate... if you talk to any mayor in America they'll say the biggest problems aren't crime in the streets or prostitution...it's unfended mandates. They also complain, I was talking about the test cell at Tinker Air Force Base. Our test cell is 50 years old . We're testing the KC 135's , the B2's all of these. We cannot do it and defend America."

INHOFE says: "...what happened on November second is exactly why we ought to be the ones making these decisions. They fired all these guys and I'm glad they did."
SENATOR DEMINT IS EXPECTED TO SEEK A VOTE ON HIS PROPOSAL AT NEXT WEEK'S SENATE REPUBLICAN CONFERENCE MEETING.
