A REPORT RELEASED BY THE SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ADMINISTRATION (SAMHSA), STATES THE RISK OF DEPRESSION GROWS WITH AGE...
ONLY FIVE PERCENT OF TWELVE YEAR OLDS REPORTED SUFFERING A DEPRESSIVE EPISODE IN THE PAST YEAR..
BUT BY THE TIME GIRLS TURNED FIFTEEN.. THAT NUMBER INCREASED TO FIFTEEN PERCENT.
AND RESEARCHERS SAY WHILE ADOLESCENT BOYS DO EXPERIENCE DEPRESSION... THEY DO IN MUCH LOWER NUMBERS.
ONLY FOUR AND A HALF PERCENT OF BOYS BETWEEN TWELVE AND SEVENTEEN REPORTED HAVING A MAJOR DEPRESSIVE EPISODE IN THE LAST YEAR.
