Cover of Kaaba, also known as Kiswa, will be renewed on the Thul-Hijjah 10, last month of Islamic calendar, or December 8 for this year.
The new Kiswa made of about 670 kg pure silk, and 15 kg of silver and gold threads also used for embroidery. The cover engraved with the versus from the Holy Quran, sacred book of Islam. Over 200 loom masters and frescoers worked for one year to finish the new cover.
Yearly routine of the renewal is also took place on the first day of Hajj, Muslim pilgrimage, and Eid al-Adha, second big religious festival of the year after Ramadan.
