ASSOCIATED PRESS FASHION EXPERT NATALIE ROTMAN SAYS THE LADIES TOOK IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL ON THE OSCAR RED CARPET.... WITH MANY OF THE WOMEN GOING FOR AN OLD SCHOOL HOLLYWOOD GLAMOUR LOOK.
ROTMAN says: "First of all we had no bjork moments. I mean the ladies have learned with out a doubt ,everybody took it to the next level, there was a lot of that we heard all the time hollywood old school glamour. It's really what happened here tonight. The best example of that is Angelina Jolie... that black velvet Versace is absolutely exquisite. So lets start with the black. Jessica Chastain, hers was black with gold beading that was Alexander Mcqueen with 2 million dollars worth of Harry Weinsten yellow diamonds. The trends we saw were incredible, it was a great variable of ages and ethnicity's and body types on this carpet and we saw them representing the fashion. Green -- Viola Davis stunning in her green verowing, and then you had Glenn Close, also a beautiful woman whose smart, because of her age she covers, you know she wore a longer jacket which you don't see the younger girls doing, that happens with age, a women want to carry herself in the best way and thats the first thing that goes with age and that was Zach Posen"

now lets move on to some of the fashionista's. Red -- there was defiantly a beautiful moment tonight, Michelle William's in that red louie vuitton is one of the prettiest moments I have ever seen on a red carpet, because she trying to find her niche, she's a very quirky fashion, she's fashion forward and she finally went old school glamour tonight and that was beautiful. We saw Emma Stone, that was John bautista valley... that was red... that big bow was very reminiscent with when Nicole Kidman did a big red bow a while and then Natalie Portman took it up a notch, that was dior, because hers had a little black polka dots and that was beautiful."
